Brief Description:
The Rogers Lab is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual for a postdoctoral position in cancer biology in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology. The candidate will join a team focused on understanding crosstalk mechanisms within the DNA damage response network that are important for preventing genomic instability and tumorigenesis. The research aims to study the role of the TFIIH factor, XPD, in triggering the appropriate reaction at the intersection of DNA repair and apoptotic pathways following damage. The postdoctoral research will be performed in a highly interdisciplinary environment and provide opportunities to collaborate with other Yale labs. This research program emphasizes translational studies in oncology (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41587-021-01057-5) with numerous opportunities for education and training in cancer biology. Candidates should have a PhD in the biological sciences, previous experience with techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry and experience with mammalian systems. A strong background in DNA repair, cell signaling, and post-translational modifications would be advantageous.
