Brief Description:
The Interdisciplinary Forensic and Biomedical Sciences Lab (ForenBioS) at the Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is looking for a proactive and independent Postdoctoral Research Associate specialized in bioinformatics or closely related field. The researcher will work with the PI, Dr. Sara C. Zapico, and Dr. Alex Dytso, from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NJIT, on interdisciplinary projects in the intersection between forensic and biomedical sciences, involving “-omics” data: genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics, epigenomics (methylome), and proteomics. Additionally, the researcher will assist the PI in writing grants and reports; will publish high-quality peer-reviewed articles under the direction of the PI; and will supervise undergraduate and graduate students. The appointment will be for two years, ideally starting in September 1, 2022 with the possibility of extension through grants and other fellowships applications.
