ECUSA 10 years – “Vision & Commitment”

Humanity is breaking all the wrong records when it comes to climate change’
Inger Andersen, Executive Director, United Nations Environment Programme

Science has demonstrated that in the last 200 years the human activities had a direct impact on the planet’s climate. Every year, records on temperature, global emissions of greenhouse gases and atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide are reported. We are facing, without a doubt, to the greatest challenge of humanity where science plays a key role to face it.

‘Climate & Science’ will be the first event of the ECUSA 10th anniversary.

ECUSA aims to advance in the unpacking of the complex problem of climate change, the impacts in the integrated systems of planet Earth and the role of science in shaping the mitigation and adaptation solutions. The event will bring together scientists, academia, policy-makers, private and public sector, offering an interdisciplinary perspective to enhance the significance of collective and individual actions for climate-resilient development.

This event is organized in collaboration with the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington DC, and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
